The Weitz Company is seeking a Surveyor to be located on a data center construction project.

A Surveyor is responsible for determining property boundaries by taking precise measurements. Their duties include using specialized equipment to measure land boundaries, prepare sites for construction, and create maps, and charts.  Must be a licensed Surveyor.

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Use measurements of surveying equipment to determine property lines and boundaries
  • Present land information and details to management
  • Records accurate property lines and plots
  • Measuring angles and distances between points below, on, and above the Earth’s surface
  • Search survey and land records as well as land titles as needed
  • Gather proof of previous boundaries to compare where boundary lines are located and record the results to ensure data accuracy
  • Prepares reports, maps, and plots
  • Determine the precise location of buildings or roads and the proper depth for building foundations.
  • Report on restrictions such as type and size of structures that may be built on a property
  • Working with the BIM team to extract information for the model and allocate it onsite
  • CAD as-built drawings
  • Adhere to all company policies, standards, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

 

What We’re Looking For:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each previously stated duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and ability necessary to succeed in this role.

 

  • Education: Industry related college degree is required. Must be a licensed Surveyor
  •  Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years of extensive field experience is necessary.
  • Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to solve problems is crucial for this role. Mathematical skills are necessary to complete fast and accurate calculations. Details organization and time management skills are a must.
  • Technology: The candidate should have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and Apple products (iPhone & iPad) and have the ability to learn specific software. Solid systems experience with Procore is preferred. Training will be provided on company standards.
