Project Engineer: Additional Details

Major Functions of Position

The ideal candidate for this position will be reliable and have a strong work ethic to be successful at the following responsibilities:

•Maintains and distributes project documents, including drawings, specifications, correspondence, meeting minutes, and progress photographs
•Thoroughly reviews contract documents, submittals, and shop drawings and ensures coordination / conflict resolution among various scopes of work
•Reviews, prepares, and maintains Request for Information and logs
•Reviews construction schedule, prepares submittal logs/procurement logs, identifies critical path submittal/procurement items, and tracks and maintains submittal approvals and material procurement/delivery
•Performs safety inspections and assists with safety training and education
•Performs site measurements
•Monitors construction activities
•Intermediate knowledge of construction methods and techniques
•Assists in preparing daily reports
•Assists in evaluating work progress
•Performs quantity take offs and prepares estimates
•Prices, issues, and tracks potential change orders
•Reviews drawing revisions, RFIs, and submittal comments and coordinates changes on a timely basis for schedule and cost impact
•Participates in work package bids, performs scope analysis, assists in issuing subcontracts
•Coordinates with subcontractors for all inspections and documents required for inspection
•Tracks, resolves, and closes NCRs on a timely basis
•Helps manage the project budget and helps with project cost control and forecasting
•Helps coordinate the project schedule with the Superintendent
•Helps process subcontractor pay requests
•Prepares and leads project close out process, including Owner training, O&Ms, as-builts, permits, etc.
•Manages and tracks punch list completion with the Superintendent
•Maintains current contract documents and provides Owner with complete closeout and as-built documents

Desired Skills & Experience

We trust that you have:

•0-5 years of experience
•Degree in Construction Management or a related field
•OSHA 10 or 30 Certification a plus
•Competency with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, Primavera P6, Viewpoint Vista, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks
•Fluency in reading, quantifying, and analyzing construction drawings
•Competent understanding of construction scheduling and sequencing
•Strong organizational and time management skills
•Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
