K2 Electric is immediately hiring for a Safety Supervisor

We are a family owned and operated electrical company with an expanding Safety Department in need of a Safety Supervisor immediately.

The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Take lead on developing and organizing Method of Procedures (MOP), hot work permits, lock out/Tag out and power disconnect/reconnect permit documents for energized equipment shutdowns and other similar work tasks.
  • Help keep all above documents updated above.
  • Verify installations meet requirements for safety, specifications, and quality.
  • Audit of equipment and material on site visits and for critical shutdowns.
  • Stay apprised of written safety policies.
  • Monitor Service Field safety (PPE), 2-4 service site walks weekly. Verify Toolbox talks and pre-task plans weekly and report quarterly. Weekly audits of pre task plans.
  • Perform site/van inspections with all Service Department Technicians at least once per month.
  • Participate in monthly and/or quarterly Safety Committee meetings.
  • Participate in and lead Safety topics during service meetings.
  • Meet with General Contractors, site Superintendent(s) and other personnel to communicate our safety culture in conjunction with the project start and as needed.
  • Submit Workers’ Compensation Reporting to Safety Director or HR
  • Complete and document investigation interviews with employees, injured parties, and witnesses.
  • Notify Safety Director and HR immediately of accidents and submit investigation paperwork within 24 hours.
  • Other tasks & responsibilities as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Must have good command of the English language – verbal and written.
  • Must have good trade & NEC knowledge.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to train, influence and motivate team members.
  • Ability to read blueprints and other technical materials.
  • Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to terminate and set switchgear, panels & other distribution equipment

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 3 years of commercial electrical experience
  • At least 3 years operating in a safety role
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship preferred
  • OSHA & EPA standards in relation to construction

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach over head – all for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring
  • Must be willing to work both indoors and out at all times of the year
  • Able to Climb ladders (all types) and work from scaffolds and lifts
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 51 pounds unassisted
